Hi I’m Helai and I really don’t know what the purpose of all of this is but I don’t really think that matters. Socrates says that,

“Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people.”

Instead of contributing to the millennial college student stereotype, I would rather strive to be strong-minded.

Why dissonance in the harmony?

Dissonance in harmony is tension that is perceived to need a resolution, much like how people desire resolution in life’s struggles. Dissonant harmonies in music have meant so much more to me than than the final cadences ever have. You are who you are because of the things you have gone through. I wouldn’t have it any other way. There is simple beauty that can be found in the complex realities that this world brings.

I guess this is my attempt at writing about embracing contradictions.
